Tuesday, June 24th- DEQ Waste Characterization Workshops,June 24 – Kalamazoo and June 26 – Troy The DEQ is presenting two workshops to explain the process of characterizing business waste. The Waste Characterization Workshop will expand on the basic concepts and principles provided in the Introductory Webinars and the Waste sessions featured at the upcoming 2014 Michigan Environmental Compliance Conference. Workshop attendees are strongly encouraged to view the introductory webinars or participate in the MECC waste sessions prior to attending this workshop. This half-day training and plated networking lunch will supplement your understanding of the basic waste characterization concepts and provide you with practical details to use when evaluating any waste. This workshop will be beneficial to small quantity and large quantity generators of hazardous waste and anyone who manages waste for their business or institution. Registration Fee: $90 - includes materials and plated networking luncheon. This workshop qualifies for 3 Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) and 3 Professional Development Hours (PDHs). Friday, June 27th, NorthPointe Gymnastics Overnight Extravaganza-We will be hosting an overnight fundraiser for all of the kids. Camp Newaygo Co-Ed Day Camp for boys and girls entering first through sixth grade in the fall of 2014. Day Camp runs each day from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Parents may drop off their campers at the TrueNorth Service Center, located at 6308 S. Warner Ave., just south of Fremont between 7:45 am - 8:00 am. Parents may also drop off campers directly at Camp, located at 5333Centerline Rd. in Newaygo between 7:45 am - 8:15 am. Parents may pick up campers where they were dropped off in the morning at day’s end at Camp from 4:30 pm - 5:15 pm or at the TrueNorth Service Center from 5:00 pm - 5:15 pm. There is an additional $20 per session fee, for transportation from TrueNorth to Camp and back. Unless otherwise noted, all sessions cost $135 per child for Newaygo County residents or $175 for non-county residents. Additional fees may apply as noted. The SRNB Dance Academy is kicking of its summer session! We’re moving into our new space at 1 West Main Street on July 1, and are celebrating with a full complement of summer classes for all ages. In addition to our current classes, we are adding beginning Irish Dance classes for Tiny Dancers (ages 3-5), Youth (ages 6-14) and Adult dancers (ages 16-99).
